Sculptra
Sculptra was until recently, known as Newfill. It is a skin-stimulating filler made from poly-L-lactic acid. It consists of a powder made from the same chemical used to make absorbable stitches and has a long safety record.
Sculptra is injected on 3 - 4 occasions, at 4 - 6 week intervals. Following injection, the skin is stimulated to produce more and more of it's own collagen and subcutaneous tissue, gradually replacing lost volume.
Patients must be committed to regular facial massage in the first few weeks of treatment in order to spread the new growth of cells evenly. Treatments can produce results that can last for 2 years and more.
No skin pre-test is required although due to the fact that this product must be reconstituted days prior to administering it, full payment is required on booking sessions and cancelled appointments for this treatment cannot be refunded.
